Sam Hatmaker grew up performing in shows at Dollywood and in the Pigeon Forge area, but it wasn't until the age of 11 when she was cast in Elwood Smooch's Choo Choo Boogie Variety Show (yes, that was the name!) that she discovered her deep love of country music. Among her many influences are Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, Merle Haggard, Chris Stapleton, Johnny Cash, and her first crush Kenny Rogers. Sam began writing songs when she was 8 and taught herself to play guitar when her aunt gave her one for her 11th birthday. Since that time she has written over 500 songs and in 2015 signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music in Nashville.
